The Archivio Chiara Fumai association pursues the aim of protecting the artistic activity carried out by Chiara Fumai (Rome 1978 – Bari 2017), as well as the image of the artist, by taking care of the following activities:
- Certification of the works:the Archive issues, through its special scientific committee, the archiving certificates of Chiara Fumai’s works which will be submitted to its examination, without distinction of their technique of execution. The Archive is therefore competent to issue certificates of paintings, collages, drawings, sculptures, installations, videos, sound installations, photographs, manuscripts, embroideries, works on fabric, and original art objects created by Chiara Fumai in any medium and with any technique.
- Management of the archive of works and archiving certificates:the association takes care of the management of the archive of certified works by maintaining their digital documentation, as well as the ownership title of those who requested their archiving. Each work will be assigned an archiving code, so that the archived works correspond to their owner.
- Creation of the digital and paper archiveof the works, books, catalogs and publications concerning the artist – website: Chiara Fumai Archive will manage the website intended to collect documentation on the artist’s works with the aim to explore her practice in all its salient aspects and to provide all interested parties with a consultation tool based on suitable scientific assumptions. The Archive also aims to establish a database, a constantly updated web platform, available to institutional workers, scholars, researchers and those who request it, which collects paper and/or digital documentation of the artist’s work.
- Protection of the artist’s image, works and related rights:all the initiatives deemed useful for the protection of the artist’s image and work are exclusively reserved to the Chiara Fumai Archive, both in Italy and abroad. In particular, the Archive, which is the sole and exclusive owner of the rights connected to the activities carried out in the context of statutory duties, authorizes the use of photographic, video and/or digital reproductions of the works; the publication, communication and/or dissemination, also via the Internet, of images of the works; reproduction in auction catalogs or on other media of any kind. All in compliance with the rules concerning the cases of free use provided for by the regulations in force and in particular by Law no. 633 of 22 April 1941 on copyright. The protection of works extends to the entire production of paintings, collages, drawings, sculptures, installations, videos, sound installations, photographs, manuscripts, embroideries, works on fabric, and original art objects made by Chiara Fumai in any medium and with any technique.
- Protection of the copyright of the resale right:Chiara Fumai Archive, also in the interest of the artist’s legitimate heirs, monitors the correct application of the rules on copyright, as well as on the resale right (so-called Droit de suite), notifying the interested parties (SIAE – heirs) of any irregularities found during the public dissemination or sale of Chiara Fumai’s works. Chiara Fumai Archive will collaborate with public and private institutions, galleries, art dealers and auction houses, as well as with collectors to whom it will provide its advice and the scientific support necessary to produce exhibitions, both solo and group shows, to publish catalogs or to carry out other initiatives deemed useful for the purpose of enhancing Chiara Fumai’s work in the broadest possible context and defending its market.
